The Plantronics Blackwire Family is made up of several series: 215/225, 3200, 5200 and 700. They offer varying connectivity options depending on the series/model. While wireless headsets are extremely beneficial and popular, there are very good reasons why organizations choose corded options instead:
This series is great for the digital nomads who work from wherever they happen to be via their laptops and mobile devices.
Some models have features that differentiate them like the Plantronics Blackwire 725 models that include Active Noise Canceling (ANC) speakers and Smart Sensor Technology. The Blackwire 710/720 variants support Bluetooth connectivity. Then there are the Blackwire 435 units that are the only non-headband model in the Blackwire family. The 435 are earbud style with a short boom mic and allows wearing flexibility by supporting earbud only, over the ear and behind the neck options (neckband sold as a separate accessory). You can also remove one of the earbuds for single-ear use.
Some of the variants also include Microsoft and Unified Communications (UC) variants. Microsoft variants are optimized/certified/compatible with Microsoft platforms like Lync, Skype for Business and Teams. The UC variants are compatible with all other major UC platforms like Avaya and Cisco.
The new Blackwire 3200 and 5200 series are replacing the older Blackwire 300 and 500. While USB-C has been around since at least 2014. Device manufacturers and businesses are slowly beginning to make the transition. These new series include USB-C connectivity.
All Blackwire models include a 2 Year Limited Warranty.
With so many variants, we felt an easy way to categorize is via connectivity. Below is a breakdown of Blackwire Family by connectivity.
